BHAM Benefit Friday 27 November

Gig was a great success - we raised about £70 for BHAM plus lots of tins of food donated to the food bank.  Cheers to the bands and White Hart crew for getting it together and PRSC for letting us use their space.

Devon House IPO Fail

Devon House is a large building in a residential area of Bristol owned by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG).  The building's been squatted and several attempts to evict the squatters have failed as the DCLG can't get it's paperwork straight.

Earlier this month the Guardian published an interview with street artist Stik.

Although it's not in the online version the printed article included a picture of the old Free Shop on Stokes Croft.

Stik painted the sleeping, homeless person on the side of the building.

In the picture's caption the building is described as the HQ of Bristol Housing Action Movement.  It wasn't, but we're not complaining.
